The Heritage Farmstead Museum presents the second annual Farm- Fest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., October 11, to introduce the public to all of the new happenings at the farm, including a new theme, The Female Frontier, supported by two new exhibits. In the Farrell Wilson House, Woman, Work and Wardrobe will be on display, while the Young House features a travelling exhibit, Rural Texas Women at Work.
The county fair atmosphere includes historic demonstrations, tours, animal exhibits, arts and crafts, vendors, rides, live entertainment, food and beverages. Highlights include contests like Hog Callin’, Rooster Crowin’ and Husband Callin’. The Cowboy Church will be looking for young riders to participate in a children’s rodeo and there will be an antique tractor show and Victorian fencing exhibitions, as well as a chuck wagon cooking demonstration.
