The nonprofit Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary offers summer nature camps in June and July covering a wide variety of topics and interests for 5-to-15-year-olds. Just a sampling of the many activities includes Birds of a Feather, Furred & Fabulous, Trail Signs, Pond Pondering, Wetland Feast, Night Life, Reptiles Rock, Insect Mania, Earth Forces, GeoWhiz, Eco-games and much more.
Heard summer camps also feature opportunities to delve into the wonders of nature on a 289-acre sanctuary, encounter animal ambassadors and investigate nature-themed topics. Nature Art Camp includes all supplies and Keeper Camps provide a behind-the-scenes, hands-on adventure with the education and exhibit animals, where participants learn about different animals and what it takes to properly care for them.
