Mealtimes can be a real drudgery for a celiac child. Providing an environment filled with camp activities that accommodates special dietary needs, Gilmont Camps host The Great Gluten Escape summer camp, June 23 to 29, 2017, at Gilmont Camp and Conference Center, in Gilmer.
The Great Gluten Escape provides a summer camp concept free of gluten food in an
environment that encourages peer support, the building of self-esteem and the making of new friends with the same food concerns. Activities include scavenger hunt, canoeing, swimming, riding a zip line, archery, mountain biking, cooking, crafts and plenty of free time to build friendships with others that understand and can talk together.
Gilmont Camp is American Camp Association accredited, working as a ministry to bring together veteran staff, nurses and cooks with a passion for serving gluten-free children. Their focus is to provide an important week for very special children by making them feel normal, while making sure they enjoy themselves without having to think about their diet.
