Peak Season for Lavender Picking

Lavender Ridge Farms is hosting a Lavender Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 24 through 26, in Gainesville, Texas, 30 minutes north of Denton. Visitors can pick their own lavender blooms, enjoy great food, lavender treats, wine tasting and shopping.


There will be 50 vendors with art, antiques and handmade items.

Originally a strawberry and melon farm in the 1920s and 1930s, Lavender Ridge Farms opened in 2006 as a lavender, cut-flower and herb farm. The land here has been in the same family for more than 150 years and will be home sweet home for many years to come.
