The 38th annual Cowtown multi-race event, one of the largest in the state, will take place from February 26 to 28 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, in Fort Worth. The event features an Ultra Marathon, Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, Adults 5K and Cook Children’s 5K. All events include a wheelchair division, and more than 29,000 runners are expected to participate. This family-oriented event is open to runners of all levels, and all races start and finish on Gendry Street.
Olympian Jeff Galloway, now a motivational speaker with the message of how to enjoy fitness, stay injury-free, run faster, go farther, improve nutrition and maintain optimal brain activity, will conduct a three-hour running school from noon to 3 p.m., February 27 (preregistration required).
A Health and Fitness Expo will be held on February 26 and 28. The Cowtown Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness (CALF) program educates area students and awarded more than 5,000 monetary grants and running shoes last year and provided youth training programs.
