The city of Garland will host the Healthy Living Expo 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., September 21, at the Curtis Culwell Center, in Garland. The expo offers information from national, state and local organizations about fitness, nutrition, stress reduction and health care services, along with topics on environment and conservation including

energy and water efficiency, gardening, renewable energy, alternative fuel vehicles and waste reduction. Recycling stations will be available for attendees to recycle electronics, shoes, eyeglasses and more.

Health screenings for bone density, blood pressure and cholesterol will be available, as well as immunizations, family safety educational demonstrations and exhibits. A timed H2O 5K race starts at 8:15 a.m., with awards at 9:30. All participants registering before September 7 will receive a Tshirt and goodie bag.

Admission and parking are free. There is a fee for participating in the 5K race.
