The Texas Mud Series hosts the Jailbreak DFW 5K Mud Run, September 28, at DFW Adventure Park, in Roanoke. The off-grid adventure is one of four in a series of Jailbreak mud runs in Texas that challenges thrill-seekers of all fitness levels and age; 14 and over.
The fun-filled but challenging obstacles include mud pits, cargo nets, ramps, muddy slopes and trails, knee-high ravines and mazes. There are no swimming obstacles in a Jailbreak event and qualified emergency workers are stationed throughout the race course to insure safety.
Each participant receives an event T-shirt, a medal and a beer (ages 21 and up). Following the run, participants are encouraged to trade stories and relax over BBQ and beverages while enjoying live music. Meal tickets are purchased separately.
The event goes off rain or shine, unless weather creates an unsafe environment, in which case the event will be postponed for a few hours. Waves of runners occur every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first wave is a competitive wave and chip timed. Packet pick-up is at the event on the day of the event. Online registration closes September 25.
